The One Chronicles: Career Crush

It’s been a while since I’ve written here. I still need to update this section in case my memory fails me… at least, I’ll know where my heart fluttered or did not flutter to!

Going back to the man of the hour… I can only be so bold to post this because I know he does not know my personal rant site….

But I still have some sort of decency, so I’ll place a read more tab to those who want to filter out some cheesy things from this post.

Career Life

Momentum

An overwhelming feeling of excitement surges over me as I think about the days to come.

I just finished reading my yearly goals and I find it absolutely funny to see things actually falling into place.

My heart jumps with happiness and fulfillment to see these little victories happening in my life.

What use would it it be if I sulked around because it isn’t my big day yet? Wouldn’t it be extremely silly not to celebrate significant milestones, however small they may seem to others?

(Awards for being a Riser – helping train 3 members in one month, and Top 15 Senior Marketing Directors in A. International division in WSB/WFG.)

These medals I got from the WFG Momentum 2016 convention means more to me than anything I’ve received in my entire life. I know it’s a tiny, tiny thing…. at least a few hundred more people got the same award but I feel proud. I’ve worked for it. And as I crossed the stage that day, I couldn’t help but visualize the day I finally get to stay and speak….. to my world wide audience, in a world class stage.

I’m willing to wait for that moment.
I won’t rush things anymore: I’ve learned my lesson.

Although it might come from good intentions, forcing a butterfly to come out of its cocoon prematurely will permanently destroy that butterfly’s life forever. It won’t know how to fly, it won’t know the proper sensations to open its wings and soar in the air…. it will be crippled.

Pain and change are necessary. But they have to come from within. Change has to come from inside out for new life to be born.

And don’t worry if you feel incompetent from time to time: I’m exactly like that too. Sometimes I listen to the voice in my head telling me I’m not enough…

But time and time again, I am reminded to trust in my journey and to all of the things God has planned for me.

He has his perfect timing all laid out in place.

So keep holding on.
You’ll get there. We’ll get there.

Lifting People

It’s great to give people constructive criticism….

When they are ready for it.
First we have to show them we care for them. First we have to show them our genuinity and authenticity in things.

It feels even better to compliment people on their strengths rather than call them out on their weaknesses.

If we lift people up, people perform the best they can ever be.

Doors of Opportunity

It’s interesting to see the unfolding of goals actually being achieved. I’ve always heard about the law of attraction – how you attract the places and things that are nestled in your thoughts.

When I made my goals last year and amended them earlier this year, I had no idea how I was getting there. But all I knew was that I was going to get it, I was going to achieve it.

I started off this blog with one of the rockiest points in my career: The Confrontation and  Uneasiness. It seemed like such a dead end event, and it honestly felt like my career was going through a plunge. In many senses, it was, but looking back at it now, I understand why that had to happen.

When one door closes, another one opens.

I’m so happy that I wound up in one of the best offices in Surrey. This wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t let go of my position at Guildford and let another person grow and take my place.

I can’t say how happy and ecstatic I am to have found my kindred souls in business.

And as I sail off the desert land of Vegas tomorrow, I can definitely walk in those convention doors with my head held high – my future is full of hope.

Driving Thoughts: Do good

When you don’t do it right the first time, you pay the price later on….

And just like a credit card, it also accrues interest – Karma interest, and it goes right back at you.

I am now paying the price for something I’ve done in the past. I didn’t do it right – I didn’t know any better. I wanted to rush things, to hurry things, to ripen the fruit when it wasn’t supposed to be ripened, and I am now dearly paying the consequences for my silly actions a year ago.

Sigh. It was indeed a silly and a rather costly business decision.

But you know what they say, everything is a learning experience.

I can get back up again and try, but this time, with a higher standard of excellence.

Daily Thoughts

Sixth Step: Excellence

image

Random note before I delve into the good stuff: decided to continue writing in my actual journal everyday to log my daily thoughts & valuable things learned. Keeping the digital one for fond online throwbacks when reflection day comes.

Reflecting now on June 13, 2016. A rainy Tuesday but it was SUPER sunny in my heart.

Words of Wisdom from today’s webinar/video conference call:

You can lose money, you can lose your title… but you will never lose your character.

Some people are successful, but they are not excellent. Some people are winning, but they are not excellent. Some people are wealthy…

but they are not excellent.

When you win, win with a higher standard.

Aim for excellence.

You DIDN’T just come here on this earth to do something average, you’re here to do something great.
